В качестве правильного глагола to need означает "требоваться", "нуждаться".
- Правильный глагол need употребляется как обычный глагол
- (принимает окончание –s в форме третьего лица единственного числа, принимает окончание –ed в форме прошедшего времени, вопросительные и отрицательные предложения образуются с помощью вспомогательного глагола, и т.п.). После правильного глагола need следует инфинитив с частицей to.
- Например: He needs to be punctual. Ему нужно быть пунктуальным. He needed some more time to decide the question. Ему нужно было еще время, чтобы решить вопрос. Do you need to go now? Тебе сейчас нужно уходить? I don't need to talk to him. Мне не нужно с ним разговаривать.
В качестве модального глагола need означает «нужно", «надо-должен".
- После недостаточного глагола need следует инфинитив без частицы to , и он не принимает окончания –s в форме третьего лица единственного числа.
- Например: You need not work today. Тебе не нужно работать сегодня. Need I go now ? Мне нужно идти сейчас? Need we reserve seats ? Нам нужно забронировать места?

Complex object в английском языке переводится придаточным дополнительным предложением, вводимым союзами «как», «что», «чтобы».
- We noticed the woman enter the house through the back door.
