Amirkhan: Good afternoon. We are from Kazakhstan. Now we are having TV-bridge “Astana-Washington”. We want to make friends with the people of the USA. Washington?
Washington! Astana is greeting you.
Gerald: Hi! Washington is greeting you too. We are pleased to see you . So, dear friends, our meeting is an important one. How are you?
Amirkhan: Fine, Thanks. And you Gerald?
Gerald: O.K. let’s begin our talk show.
Amirkhan: As they say” How many countries so many customs”. Today we will speak about our countries. Washington.
American pupil 1: After the first voyage of Columbus in 1492, America is called the “New World”. Later, however, it was decided by mapmakers in Europe to name the New World after the man Amerigo Vespucci.
American pupil 2: He was an Italian merchant and adventurer who made 3 trips to the New World.

Amirkhan: Thank you. Gerald, what do you know about Kazakhstan?
Gerald: Now Kazakhstan is a developing country and there are many nationalities in Kazakhstan.
Amirkhan: Right. Russian, Kazakh, Ukrainian, German, Korean, Chinese and others live in our Country.
Kazakh pupil: The Republic of Kazakhstan is located in the heart of the Eurasian continents. It includes 14 provinces with 83 towns over 200 settlements and about 2500 villages and aulls, inhabited with people of 131 ethnic groups.
Kazakh pupil: The state language is Kazakh. At state organization and local bodies the Russian is used equal together with Kazakh. A lot of people of Kazakhstan learn English
and they can sing English and American songs.
Gerald: Thank you very much. The American music industry is the worlds most powerful and it remains the driving force of American pop.
American pupil: African Americans’ influence, including blues, jazz and hip-hop, can hardly be Exaggerated.
Gerald: Thank you, I think it was very interesting for your funs and now tell me, please:”Have you any national dishes in Kazakhstan?”
Amirkhan: Of course, we prepare tasty dishes from meat and milk. Kazakh national Cuisine is a mirror reflection of the soul of the nation of its history, traditions and customs.
Kazakh pupil: Meat is a basis of the majority of meals and small wonder that it is always
Courses that are the worthy decorative of any dastarkhan. Such meat delicacies as Kazy, shuzhuk, zhal, zhaya, and karta are prepared mostly of horseflesh.
Kazakh pupil: Wide- spread is the use of milk products. It’s well explainable because kumyss, Shubat and airan are easy to store in conditions of nomad life. Bread and baursacs accompanied by the most popular drink-tea with milk.
Amirkhan: Thank you... And what do you usually eat in America?
American pupil: People in America are always in a hurry. We hurry, hurry and so we don’t have any time and we don’t like to spend our time cooking. We prefer toasts,
sandwiches, hotdogs, yogurt, chips and other packed meals. It’s easy to cook hotdog. Look. Take the bun and cut it. Then you put the sausage into it, put it oven and pour some ketchup. It’s ready.
Amirkhan: Thank you Susan. Very nice. O.K. lets continue our talk show. Gerald, do you like films and songs?
Gerald: Gertainly. I like American films, pop music groups.
American pupil: This is Hollywood. It’s a centre of the US film business. There are a lot of famous actors and actresses. Liv Taylor, David Duhovny, Jullian Andersen,
musical groups “Backstreet Boys”,”Black-eyer peas” and others.
Kazakh pupil: Of course, there are a lot of famous actors and actresses like Asanali Ashimov. Doskhan Zholzhaksynov, Meruert Utekeshova and others. We also like films, songs.
Kazakh pupil: Jack. What king of sport do the people go in for in America?
American pupil: We go for basketball, baseball, football, golf, hockey, boxing and skiing
And what about sports in Kazakhstan?
Kazakh pupil: We also go in for basketball, judo, wrestling and others. I think its necessary for our health and life.
Amirkhan: I think everybody must go in for sport to be healthy.
Gerald: Our program came to an end. What are your impressions of America and Kazakhstan?
Amirkhan: Everyone like their own Motherland and today we’ve spoken about our countries and now we know each other better. It’s necessary to meet more often.
