Физкультминутка Развитие фантазии, творческих способностей и умений | It’s time to learn more about Halloween. Look at the screen, please. Halloween is a festival that takes place on October 31. The main Halloween activity for children is trick-or-treating. Children dress in costumes and masks and go from door to door saying "trick or treat". The neighbors give children such treats as candy, fruit and pennies So that children do not play tricks on them. Fortunetelling and storytelling about ghosts and witches are popular activities. People carve jack-o'-lanterns out of pumpkins. Most jack-o'-lanterns contain a candle inside. An Irish legend says that jack-o'-lanterns are named after the man called Jack. He could not enter heaven because he was a miser, and he could not enter hell because he had played jokes on devil. What do you think happens with Jack in the end? As a result, Jack has to walk on the earth with his lantern until Judgment Day.
So who can tell me what is the main symbol of Halloween? Absolutely right, the main symbol of the festival is Jack-o'-lantern. And we just can’t continue celebration without him. Let’s call Jack! Pumpkin, pumpkin! Come to us! We celebrate Halloween tonight in our class! Oh, we must do it a bit louder! One more time. Here he is. Meet Jack-o'-lantern.
I have a poem about Jack, but unfortunately all the lines are mixed. Could you help me and put them in the right order? Well-done! Let’s read the poem together!
Jack-o-lantern, Jack-o-lantern, You are such a funny sight. As you sit there by the window, Looking out into the night.
You were once a lovely pumpkin, growing on a farm. Now you are a Jack-o-lantern, And to us you have come.
We know that a very popular activity on Halloween is storytelling. Do you like scary stories? Yes? Then listen to my story… Maybe, someone wants to tell us a story about ghosts or withes? A scared story 1 Once upon a time there lived an old woman. She sat by the fire and waited for someone to come. But no one came. One day there was a knock at the door and the door opened and came in two big shoes, two long thin legs, some wide, wide shoulders, some long thin arms, two fat hands and a pumpkin head. She looked at this strange man and said:
A scared story 2 In a black-black wood There is a black-black house In the black-black house There is a black-black room In the black-black room There is a black-black shelf In the black-black shelf There is a black-black box And in the black-black box There is a Ghost!
Ok. Thank you, guys! Children, are you frightened? Let’s sing a pumpkin song. But before singing we read and translate it. Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate The first one said, "oh my it's getting late" The second one said, "there are witches in the air" The third one said, "but we don't care!" The fourth one said, "let's run and run and run" The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!" OOOhh -OOOhh went the wind And out went the lights And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight Today you have seen a lot of pumpkins. Some of them were funny, others – scary. Now you can create your own Jack-o’-lantern. Take some paper and felt-tip pens and make a Halloween pumpkin. You have 3 minutes. Have you finished? Put your pictures on the blackboard in order everybody can see your pumpkin. |
