Тема урока: The Royal family and its members 
Цель урока: 
Ознакомить учащихся с информацией о королевской семье, их резиденции (Букингемский дворец). 
Задачи урока: 
1) Выявить владение учащимися дополнительной информации о членах королевской семьи. 
2) Способствовать развитию критического мышления;

3) навыков поискового чтения и систематизации полученной информации. 
4) Повышать интерес к стране изучаемого языка и мотивацию к изучению английского языка. 
Результаты обучения: Владение информацией о королевской семье Великобритании и ее членах. 
Навыки анализа, синтеза полученной информации, поискового чтения, передачи информации другим. 
Внутренняя мотивация, осмысление ответственности за свое обучение. 
Ключевые идеи: Расширение кругозора учащихся, через организацию совместной деятельности. 
Воспитание культуры общения и толерантности. 
Задания:

Задание 1. Прочитайте текст и обменяйтесь информацией о Букингемском дворце и второй о Королевской семье. 
Задание 2. 
Из множества фотографий выбрать только членов королевской семьи и подписать.
Задание 3. 
Дифференцированные задания для работы в малых группах. 
С помощью мобильных телефонов найдите информацию о членах королевской семьи( учащимся с высоким интеллектом) . 
Прикрепите предоставленную ниже информацию к членам королевской семьи( остальным учащимся). 
Задание 4. 
Сделать выводы по уроку. 
Действия учащихся во время урока: Учащиеся работают в группах; составляют кластер, находят информацию с помощью мобильных телефонов, консультируют, приходят к общему мнению, оценивают друг друга; делают выводы.

During our last lesson we remembered some facts and got new information about The UK.  Today we are going to speak about “The Royal Family” of the UK and it’s members.

I’m giving out you texts. The first group gets text about the royal family. The second one gets text about Buckingham Palace the residence of royal family. 
You must read and get information. 
Then one of you go to other group and this group must tell you all that you know about your material. Then you will back and tell received information to your own group. 
And in the end each of you except Sasha will answer some questions.

Вuckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is the Queen's official and main royal London home. It has been the official London residence of Britain's monarchy since 1837. 
Buckingham Palace is not only the home of the Queen and Prince Philip but also the London residence of the Duke of York (Prince Andrew) and the Earl and Countess of Wessex (Prince Edward and his wife) and their daughter. 
Buckingham Palace is also an office of the British monarch, an art gallery and tourist attraction. 

Every year some 50,000 invited guests are entertained at garden parties, receptions, audiences and banquets. The Garden Parties, usually three, are held in the summer, usually in July. The Forecourt of Buckingham Palace is used for Changing of the Guard, a major ceremony and tourist attraction (daily during the summer months; every other day during the winter). 

Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms including 19 state rooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms, a cinema and a swimming pool. It also has its own post office and police station. 
About 400 people work at the Palace, including domestic servants, chefs, footmen, cleaners, plumbers, gardeners, chauffeurs, electricians, and two people who look after the 300 clocks. 

Queen Victoria was the first monarch to live at Buckingham Palace.

The Royal Family

The British Royal Family's surname is Windsor. They changed their name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor in 1917. 

The Royal family are members of the Church of England. The Royal family can only be Church of England. Roman Catholics are barred from succession under the Act of Settlement (1701) 

The Queen is Head of the Church of England - a position that all British monarchs have held since it was founded by Henry VIII in the 1530s. 
Although the Queen is no longer responsible for governing the country, she carries out a great many important tasks on behalf of the nation. 
As Head of State, the Queen goes on official State visits abroad. She also invites other world leaders to come to the United Kingdom. During their visit, Heads of State usually stay at Buckingham Palace, or sometimes at Windsor Castle or Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Members of the Royal Family participate in hundreds of public engagements yearly throughout the whole of the United Kingdom, as formally recorded in the Court Circular, to honour, encourage and learn about the achievements or endeavours of individuals, institutions and enterprises in a variety of areas of life. As representatives of HM The Queen, they often also join the nation in commemorating historical events, holidays, celebratory and tragic occurrences, and may also sponsor or participate in numerous charitable, cultural and social activities.

Diana Princess of Wales 
1 July 1961 – 31 August 1997 
Diana, Princess of Wales was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales. Their sons, Princes William and Henry (Harry), are second and third in line to the thrones of the United Kingdom and fifteen other Commonwealth Realms. 
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary) 
(born 21 April 1926) is the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms, and head of the 54-member Commonwealth of Nations. In her specific role as the monarch of the United Kingdom, one of her 16 realms, she is Supreme Governor of the Church of England. She is also head of state of the Crown Dependencies. 
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburg 
(born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark10 June 1921) is the husband of Elizabeth II. He is the United Kingdom's longest-serving consort and the oldest serving spouse of a reigning British monarch. 
Prince Charles 
the son of Elizabeth II and Philip, duke of Edinburgh. In 1971 he studied at the University of Cambridge, becoming the first heir to the throne to obtain a university degree, and he later attended the Royal Air Force College and the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. He took a tour of duty with the Royal Navy (197176). In 1981 he married Lady Diana Spencer ( Diana, princess of Wales), and they had two sons, William and Henry. 
Prince William, Duke of Cambridge 
(born 21 June 1982), is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and third eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He is second in the line of succession, behind his father, to the thrones of sixteen independent sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms. 
Prince Henry of Wales 
(born 15 September 1984), commonly known as Prince Harry, is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, and fourth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. As such, he is third in the line of succession (behind his father and elder brother) to the thrones of sixteen independent sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms.
