Вед. 1 – Good afternood, dear friends.

Вед. 2 – Good afternoon, we are glad to be with you today.

1 – Xenia, what’s your hobby?

2 – Arthur, music, of course.

1- So, let’s talk about music.

2 – With great pleasure. I think that all of us like music. With the help of music we can express out thoughts and feelings, we can relax and have fun.

1 – I agree with you. Music helps us to understand the inner world of a person. Some people enjoy classical music, others pop and rock. So many people, so many opinions. What about you? What kind of music are you fond of?

2 – Rock music.

1 – And now it’s time for music. Try to guess whose music we are listening to?

Звучит аудиозапись песни Пола Маккартни «Yellow submarine».

2 - Of course, it is «The Beatles», the most popular group in rock music history.

1 - Yes, it’s the popular song «Yellow submarine » Do you know anything about the band and its music?

2 – Certainly, one of the Beatles was John Lennon. He was born in Liverpool in 1940, October 9. He liked music very much and while studying at school he formed his first pop group. After graduating from Liverpool college of art he organized «The Beatles».

1 – Now I’d like you to listen to the song «Let it be». It is so lyrical, gentle, I think. Let It Be was also the title track of the last album of The Beatles' career.

2. - The song was written at a time when Paul McCartney felt isolated as the only member of The Beatles still keen to keep the group together. His enthusiasm and belief had kept them going after the death of their friend. During this period, his mother Mary - who had passed away in 1956 when McCartney was 14 - appeared to him in a dream. In the dream she said, 'It'll be all right.' Paul was not sure if she used the words 'Let it be' but that was her advice, it was, 'Don't worry too much, it will turn out OK.'  So that got Paul McCartney writing the song Let It Be.

1. - Xenia, would you like to drive a car?

2. – Of course, in future I will get my driving license.

1. – I’d like to look at you driving your car, but… Now I talk about song “Drive My Car”. It is the first song on 1965's Rubber Soul album. Drive My Car presents the traditional boy-girl roles in The Beatles' songs. Let’s listen to it.

2. – Do you know what Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da means?

1. – No. And what is it?

2. - Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da was written by Paul McCartney in India, it is the title phrase came from his Nigerian friend.

'Ob la di, ob la da' was a phrase that McCartney had heard from a friend called Jimmy Scott who was a Nigerian conga player. The title was said for 'Life goes on', but was actually just a family phrase. McCartney used to love this expression... He sounded like a philosopher saying them.

1 – Xenia, what did you do yesterday?

2 – Well, as usual, my homework. Oh, I see. You want to tell us about a lyrical ballad, that became the national pride of the English people.

1 - You are right. We all know about Yesterday.

Yesterday was written by Paul McCartney; Yesterday holds the record as the most covered song in history, according to the Guinness Book of Records.

John Lennon said that it was Paul's song and Paul's baby. It was well done and very beautiful. He never wished he would write it.

2 - Paul McCartney said that he composed the melody in a dream while staying at the family home of Jane Asher in Wimpole Street, London.

The melody came to McCartney fully-formed, and then he went to the piano and found the chords to it. And now we have one of the most popular songs.

2. Arthur, let’s talk about love.

1. I know the song about it. It calls ‘All my loving’. All my loving is the first major work of Paul McCartney as a songwriter on The Beatles' second album.

2. It was the first song where he had written the words first. He never wrote words first, it was always some kind of accompaniment. The group arrived at the club for the concert, and in one of backstage areas there was a piano. Paul McCartney didn't have a guitar. It became a good show song.

1. – Help, I need your help.

2. – What has happened? Nothing… I just want to tell you about next song… Help is the title track to The Beatles' fifth album and second film, Help. It was written mainly by John Lennon at his home, where he really was crying out for help.

1. – You know, New Year is coming…

2. – Yes, the best time for each kid. Do you know any songs about children and for children?

1. – What a question! Of course, I know. ‘All together now’ is really a children's song. Paul McCartney had a few young relatives and he sang songs for them. He used to do a song for kids called Jumping Round The Room, very similar to All Together Now, that has very simple chords, only a couple of chords, so that's what this is.

2. - Arthur, do you have a dream?

1. – Yes, but it is my secret. And you? What are you dreaming about?

2. – I imagine many different things…

1. - Imagine is John Lennon's signature song. Imagine was the title track of his second album, and perhaps his best-known solo work.

Imagine is anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic... song

Imagine is John Lennon's wish for world peace and harmony in simple terms, both musically and lyrically.

2. - Imagine is the last song for today. Imagine is about us and our life, let’s sing it together.

1. – We think, you enjoyed these beautiful songs and you will keep them in you memory forever. Good luck.

2. – Good luck.
