The theme: “You should say thank you”

Form: 7 ‘a’

Aim: to enrich pupils’ knowledge talking about customs of their country and other countries, giving some information about living ways of other country, to teach them giving advice;

to develop their speech answering the questions, working on

the exercises using should/shouldn’t, improve their abilities in speaking, listening, reading and writing;

to bring them up to love and respect the customs of their county om and other countries

Type of lesson: the development lesson

Methods of teaching: Critical thinking, work in pair, individual work

Visual aids: Hot spot3, an interactive board, slides, pictures, cards, semantic cards;

The plan of the lesson:

  2. Warm-up: Song “Thank you”’

  3. Brainstorming

  • Who is on duty today?

  • Who is absent?

  • What date is it today7?

  • What day is it today?

  • What is the weather like today?

Now I divide you into three groups.

  1. The first group’s members are from China

  2. The first group’s members are Amish

  3. The first group’s members are from Yukon, Canada

T: Let’s listen to song, before starting our lesson.

T: Good! Thank you! Today we are going to speak about customs of other countries. As you know each country has its customs. So, pupils, it is time for us to know customs of other countries. Let’s read the motto of our lesson:

So many countries, so many customs ”

  1. Checking up the hometask

What’s your hometask for today. Our hometask is to prepare

some information about customs of China, Amish people and Yukon.

Are you ready?

  1. The first group’s members will speak about China

  2. The first group’s members will speak about Amish

  3. The first group’s members will speak about Yukon.

  3. How to say thank you in Chinese!

  4. Have you known Amish people before?

  8. Where is Yukon situated?

  10. What can you say about weather in Yukon?

  • If you are traveling the world, one of the things you need to be aware of is that every country has its own set of customs.

  • Now look at the blackboard

  • And what other customs do you know?
