Give their own sentences using the English tenses & Passive voice, make their own questions to the given sentences.

come up with a definition of the new words and their meanings

* Most learners will be able to:

say why they think the statements about Fairy tales given are wrong/right in their opinion

give example with tenses, own questions

* Some learners will be able to:

critically analyse a statement about Fairy tales in our country

say whether it is justified or scaremongering.

* Students can make own sentences & questions which have studied today’s and previous lessons

*Look at the blackboard. Guess the title of the lesson (Critical thinking)

* Listening: New words:

Fairy tale (noun) - ертегі

Pixie (noun)-фея, эльф

Elves (noun)– эльфы

Dwarf (noun) - Гном

Fairy Godmother (noun)- фея

Giant (noun) - Гигант

Prince, princess – Ханзада, ханшайым

Imaginary (adjective)- қиялдағы,ойдағы

Character (noun)- кейіпкер

Speaking: In pairs discuss the questions below. Open questions?

- What are your favourite Fairy tales?

- Are there any kinds of tales you dislike?

- If so, what kinds? Why do you dislike them?

b) Group work. Presentation

1. Fantasy fairy tales.

2 Fairy tales about animals

3. Realistic fairy tales.

* Ex I. Work with pictures. What types of these tales?

(Individual work)

*Now all of you look at the pictures, then group them into 3 types of tales:


Fantasy fairy tales.

Fairy tales about animals

Realistic fairy tales.







* Ex II.

  • Sleeping Beauty

  • Cinderella

  • Rapunzel

  • Snow White

  • Beauty and the Beast

  • The Frog Prince

  • Red Riding Hood

  • Snow Queen

* Ex 3: There is a fairy-tale, but the sentences are mixed, try to guess the title. 
Once upon a time there lived a young beautiful girl. 
The girl was not happy because her stepmother didn't like her. 
She did all the hard work, washed the dishes, tidied the rooms and cooked. 
The prince was going to have a great ball. 
Fairy godmother turned the girl’s ugly dirty dress into a beautiful one, she turned her shoes into glass slippers and a pumpkin into a carriage. 
She went to the ball and danced with the prince. 
She ran out at midnight and lost a shoe on the way out 
The Prince found the shoe and went to every house to find the girl who lost that shoe. 
He found a beautiful girl who lost that shoe. 
The prince and she got married and they lived happily. 

* Ex IV. Role- play. “Cinderella” Act – out the fairy tale.
