«Halloween» («Хэллоуин»)
Цели
Коммуникативные: научиться употреблять в речи лексику, связанную с празднованием Хэллоуина.
Регулятивные: находить средства осуществления задачи учебной деятельности
Познавательные: осознанно строить речевые высказывания в соответствии с задачей.
Ход урока
Good morning, boys and girls! Today we have an unusual lesson. It is devoted to a special holiday called Halloween. What do you know about this holiday?
Children say what they know – costumes, date, countries.
Good! Today you will learn much more – history and traditions, songs and poems.
Let's start with guessing the riddles
1. I flight at night because I don't like light (Bat)
2. I'm scary and white. I come out at night. Who am I? (Ghost)
3. I've got soft black fur. When you hold me I purr. Who am I? (a black cat)
4. I'm round on all sides. I've got a light inside. Who am I? (Jack-o-lantern)
5. I've got a black cat and a big pointed hat. Who am I? (Witch)
6. I’m yellow or white. I smile on Halloween night. Who am I? (Moon)
Let's listen to the history of the holiday. (учащийся рассказывает об истории праздника)
This holiday started in Ireland. Halloween was originally a festival of the dead. It is celebrated on the 31st of October. Halloween means All Hallows Eve. You know, the 1st of November is All Hallows Day (День всех святых). People thought that the evening (eve) before is the time when the veil between the living and the dead is lifted and witches, ghosts and other supernatural beings are about. So this holiday is associated with death and supernatural.
Many Halloween stories and games are hundreds of years old. Then people believed in devils, witches and ghosts. Now most people don,t believe in devils.
American children celebrate Beggar,s Night as Irish children did in the 17th century. They dress up in Halloween costumes and go out into the streets to beg.
They often wear masks over their faces. They carry baskets and bags. They go from house to house and knock at the door. They ring the bell. When people come to the door, the children say “TRICK or TREAT’,meaning ‘ GIVE us treat or we,ll play a trick on you.” People give the children sweet, cookies and apples.
A favourite Halloween custom is to make a Jack-o’-lantern. The children scrape out a pumpkin and cut the eyes, а nose and а mouth.
They light a candle inside the pumpkin to scare their friends. They set jack-o’-lanterns in the windows.

Some people in Britain are certain that if they put new shoes on the table, they will have bad luck.
The English won’t kill spiders , especially the small red spiders called money spiders , as this is very unlucky.
Other animals are symbols of luck. In Endland black cats bring good luck, but in other countries they bring bad luck.
White horses are also lucky, but in some places you can cross your fingers until you see a dog or you will have bad luck.
The most unlucky thing you can do is to break the mirror. This bring seven years of bad luck.

The number 13 is the most unlucky number, and a combination of Friday with the number 13 is a day of disaster for superstitious people.
