Цели урока: тренировка учащихся в использовании лексики и правильном

употреблении речевых образцов по теме и использование их в моно-

логической речи, провести аудирование текста.

Тип урока: урок обобщения и систематизации.

Развивающая задача: коммуникативно- речевое и социокультурное развитие

школьников, развитие способности учеников использовать англ. яз.

как инструмент общения.

Воспитательная задача: развитие у учеников чувства любви и уважения к

природе к тому месту, где родился и проживаешь.

Методы: репродуктивный, поисковый, объяснительно- иллюстративный.

Формы работы: хоровая, фронтальная, групповая.

There are eight types of climate:

  • polar

  • tropical

  • cool tempetate

  • mountain

  • warm temperate

  • monsoon

  • desert

  • tundra

  • Polar. It is very cold with strong, dry winds.

  • Tropical. It is always hot. There is a lot of rain.

  • Cool temperate. The summers are usually warm.

The winters are not very cold.

  • Mountain. The climate in moutains changes a lot with the

height of the mountain.

  • Warm temperate. Very hot, dry summers. The winters

are very cold.

  • Monsoon. Two different seasons - wet and dry.

  • Desert. They have less than 25 cm of rain. It is very hot

during the day and at night it gets very cold.

  • Tundra. It is usually cold there. The summers are short.

What types of climate do we have in different countries and continents?

  • Polar in the Arctic region

  • Tropical in Africa, South America

  • Cool temperate in Russia, Great Britain, France, Germany

  • Mountain areas with mountains

  • Warm temperate in Mongolia, Turkey, Italy, Greece

  • Monsoon in India, China

  • Desert in Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan

  • Tundra in North America, Alaska, Canada


What types of climate does each of these sentences describe?

  1. It suddenly changes from wet to dry weather.

What is happening to the climate?
Our climate is changing all the time.
Many scientists think that the world is getting warmer.
What things are changing the climate?

  • Chlorofluorocarbons from aerosol sprays and factories have made a hole in the ozone.

  • In big cities, cars and buses have polluted the air. Many people have very bad health problems.

  • People have cut down millions and millions of trees.

  • The heat from the sun cannot escape and the

temperature is rising ( the ‘greenhouse effect’)
